Happy New Year!

Once more it's challenge time over at Try it on Tuesday AND a new year has just begun! What about your New Year's resolutions? (I admit, I don't have any - except maybe getting well soon - which I wish everyone who has been dealing with health problems for way too long!!)

This fortnight's challenge invites you to show projects made with "New Stash". Luckily again Crafty-emblies will be our sponsor for this month and provide us with a £10 store voucher for the winner.

Create something using new stash and - please - tell us what you used! We are curiously looking forward to your "New Stash" (which always provides awesome inspiration, doesn't it?) and what you will create with it!

Here's what my new stash inspired me on - well, you saw it already at the beginning of this post ;)
I (finally!) got a Sizzix Big Shot for Christmas (from my wonderful husband, who always supports my creative doings) and with it came some gorgeous embossing folders and dies of course!

For my New Year's tag I used the Tim Holtz "Alterations" dies "Tiny Tabs&Tags" and "Alphabetical", the TH "Alterations Texture Fades" embossing folder "Diamond Plate" and a stamp from the awesome Indigo Blu stamp set "Sarah's Choice".

I treated a #8 sized tag with alcohol inks and ran it through the Big Shot afterwards, embossing it with the "Diamond plate" folder. Then I rubbed in some black stamping ink for more depth.

The "Tiny Tabs&Tags", cut from deep red cardboard, received a treatment with Glimmer Mist "Chocolate Covered Cherries" and heat embossing with Ranger Antiquities "Rust" embossing powder and Fran-tage "aged copper enamel".

The "Alphabetical" letters were coloured with Distress stains "brushed pewter" and "tarnished brass" and glued onto the tags. After playing around with them for a while to find their correct positions, I fixed the tabs with tiny shiny brads to add some bling for some New Year's festivity.

The "Inspire" quote was stamped with "walnut stain" Distress ink onto a scrap from a self-made background, which I distressed with the distressing tool and blended with some "vintage photo" around the edges.

For a finish I covered some areas of the tag with "aged copper embossing enamel". Wallaah! (And, please, also scroll down to the first post of today - the new challenge over at FwATCs, where you can also show "Something new" for this fortnight).

A Happy New Year with loads of health, luck and inspiration to all of you, my dear readers, scrap friends and followers!!

I am joining crafts 4 eternity's challenge with the "Something New-Recipe" with this tag.

Hugs,
Claudia - die amelie xxx
