Tiny Flower Gift Box for a Man

Welcome, dear visitors, friends and followers,

to my third "Technique Time Tuesday" as a proud member of their DT! This time Mynnette shows you how to fold

 "Dahlia Flowers"

and - you know me - I am not very much of a flower girl, but I really like the design of this one as it is very Origami like and versatile.

I had prepared my flower for quite a long time without knowing exactly with which project to use it, but I chose a very decent (and Steampunk-able - just in case *lol) paper for the flower.

By accident I stumbled upon a small brown cardboard box that was ideal for the job!!! My flower looks like I made it to fit exactly - hah, lucky me! :)

I glued the flower to a piece of card, which I cut exactly to size, distressed at the edges and blended with DIs. The top of the box was first covered on the sides with my favourite washi tape I also used with this project.

To add a rusted look I gave the washi taped sides a treatment with alcohol inks. I really love that look and having that done I decided this to be the main eyecatcher alongside with the flower itself!

So I had to keep the sides of the container rather simple. I used one of the fab Tim Holtz Grunge stamps to add some texture, blended the edges of the box with DI "walnut stain" - voila!

You also have to hop over to Mynnette's blog to see the fabulous flower projects my DT mates made! They have a lot of awesome inspiration on the go in store for you!

Maybe you have also heard the awesome news: Technique Time Tuesday offers a prize to give away each month to our challenge winner! So check it out and let me see your Dahlia flower projects soon!

Thank you very much for stopping by (and for so constantly leaving comments with me - even though I have been a rather bad comments writer for the last weeks - due to health issues. Your comments really mean a lot to me and I will try to do better as soon as I am back to normal! I promise!)

I enter this project with FSC's "anything goes" challenge.

Hugs,

die amelie
