WOYWW # 191 (= #2 in amelie's timeline)

How quickly a week can pass...  it's Wednesday again, which means the perfect time to visit crafters all around the globe showing their working desks at WOYWW. Still think, this is the most brilliant idea in crafty blogland I have ever seen! Sooo well done, Julia, and thanks - this is so inspiring.

Well, not too much to see on my desk - I am having a period of aimlessly trying this and that with the supplies and materials I have...not always successful, when it comes to presentable results. To be honest - I hate it when it feels like this, left by Mr. Mojo, who even cannot be found among all the awesome stuff I own. Brrrrrr!

On the white plate you can see two panels (cut from corrugated card using one of my dies I got for X-mas and haven't used since), left for drying. I coated them with white Gesso but that is as far as my plan has gotten yet. Maybe I will do some spraying with  my colour sprays (in the box to the right) and afterwards I could cover some areas with stamped on tissue paper - a technique I really love. (Still on the search for a theme though...).

In the lid of the TH Cargo Case you can see a brown booklet (right beside my painting frazzle). This is, where I keep track of my online orders in and of how much money I have already been spending during the month on stamping and crafting supplies (quite helpful to give you some short thought of "Ooops, already that much? Well, I should postpone that purchase then..." - this is often followed by calculating the latest purchases again, heavily rounding down the sum, which often leaves the lovely opportunity for that one last buy for this month...*giggle. I really know it's enough, when I do not even try calculating. That works brilliantly with me).

I wish you all a wonderful workdesk wednesday!!! Hope, I will find the opportunity to visit as many as possible this week!

Hugs,

die amelie x

  1. Morning Claudia - I like the look of the distressed corrugated card when I see it - I have never made anything with it myself but I think I really like it white like you have made it......thanks for the inspiration and happy shopping!! Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 55

  3. We hate when Mr. Mojo takes a break without warning us. We usually try a card or journal background when he disappears, but sometimes nothing works and you just have to wait for him to return.

  5. Your tags are just waiting for ink. A great idea to use corrugated card to make them, will be a good base that will take a lot of embellishments.

  6. Hey, don't fret - your mojo will be back soon! I find it helps to walk away for a bit and do something else for a day or two when the creativity runs dry. Thanks for popping by and leaving your kind words. I enjoyed your assumption that i knew what I was doing! I sort of did. I took the rough design from a free online tutorial, then I adapted the compartments to fit what i wanted to put in it. All the way through it gave me a headache as it all has to be sewn and embellished in different orders. I tell you, if the colleague i am making it for wasn't leaving her position at work, i probably wouldn't have attempted anything this hard!! Ha ha. Good look with finding Mr. Mojo:) Lucy #23 x

  8. Lol, we can all do some 'creative' accountancy when there's some item that we know we shouldn't buy but can't do without!!! I do that with fabric all the time....if its a bargain especially!! What are you going to do with those gessoed cut outs??

  9. I would never keep a tally of what I spend. Someone might SEE it, lol!!! Sometimes I have to just go in my room, and mosey around for a while before inspiration strikes. Also doing a challenge helps a bit with a focal point.

    Happy Crafting!

  11. Aaah, nothing worse than getting to your desk filled with lovely bits and Mr Mojo has done a runner and is sunning himself somewhere!!
My eyes were drawn to the little box on your desk with the Ameican flag design on it... it must be there by mistake because it should be mine... matches the rather largish trunk I have in my spare bedroom... ;) Annette 26

  12. I hate when Mr. Mojo goes on a walk about, doesn't he realize he has someone depending upon him! Sheesh, men! lol Oh, and as for budgeting, I've already blown February and it's not even here yet....but then that's my birthday month and I'm going to rationalize that it's OK to go over budget when it's your birthday! HA! Thanks as alays for visiting my blog, waving hi from the windy and rainy hills of North Carolina ♥

  14. Hey Claudia...keep on playing randomly and aimlessly..believe me, after 4 years of looking at other desks, I can categorically say that the 'laying' and not the 'required' or 'deadline' stuff is the most inspired and beautiful. Enjoy!

  16. It's horrible when Mr Mojo goes on holiday isn't it? I hope he returns very soon. What are you going to do with your corrugated cardboard? I love playing with it, it has such gorgeous texture doesn't it?
I had to smile at your notebook to keep track of your shopping. I'm having to be very very good at the minute but there is temptation everywhere.
Thanks for the visit earlier and Happy WOYWW

  18. Hello Claudia, thanks for your visit. I haven't used corrugated card much in the past but yesterday I cut out some autumn leaves shapes from some. I'm sure Mr Mojo will return soon, fingers crossed.

  19. Two in a row I've missed now... but it's still fun being nosy! I love your busy craft space... still bubbling even though you feel Mr Mojo's being lazy. I've seen what one of those panels became - and frankly... who needs Mr M in that case?!?

  22. Greta die isn't it? I just bought myself one, came yesterday. Can't wait to play with it. I spy some lovely ladies waiting for ink. And I do the same when Mojo takes a hike. In fact, I find getting out Tim's book and trying the techniques in there helps me a lot. No goal just the technique. Have a wonderful weekend. I'm a bit late desk hopping... Happy WOYWW! Nan 107
