Zeit, Reise oder J wie Journey / Time or Travel/ J as in Journey

Here's the tag for the challenges "Time or Travel" at  The StampMan and "J as in Journey" at alphabetchallengeblog.

As background I user a paper of Tim Holtz's "Lost and Found" - paperstash. On it I printed a map from the ATM Clear Stamps - Antiques - stampset, using Distress embossing ink from Ranger, afterwards embossing with Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder Clear. This reserves the area underneath the stamped picture against distressing ink, I user for shading the background. Wiping the ink off the embossed areas reveals the original, lighter colours of the background picture. I just love the effect that creates!

I also sprinkled some water by hand on the tag after inking, to create a water-stain-effect for a weathered and old look.

The balloon, plane and zeppelin are from the stampset from FLONZ "Retro Aviation. Airbaloon Zeppelin", map and pocket watch for the embellishment from the ATM stampset mentioned above. The phrase is a Tim Holtz stamp.

I love embossing for the same reasons. It really adds a little feeling like "in the olden days" ;)
