Christmas Cards 2019 #1

Unbelievable! I've done my first Christmas card for 2019! Me! Usually I start doing them way too late which is the reason why I don't do a lot (or do a lot less than originally planned ;)

I was inspired to start doing a Christmas project this early because I stumbled across the actual Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (which I am entering this card into) and they ask their players to "create something Christmassy" - so I did.

I have used Tim Holtz Distress Inks (gathered twigs, vintage photo, walnut stain), Distress Stains (wild honey, vintage photo) and Distress paint (black soot) alongside some of Tim's fabulous dies:
Winter Wonderland (the deer), Fall Foliage (just the oak leaf), Tree Line (in the background), Retro Merry Christmas, the bow from the Whimsy Decor dies set, Holiday Greens and Tree Rings.

I have also added a bit of the golden washi tape from Tim's Aristocrat Design Tape set and Ranger Xmas Red and Icicle Stickles.

The Retro Merry Christmas got some white highlights using a white gel pen.

The deer was die cut from designer paper and given two coats of UTEE (yes, I still have two pots on my shelf ;) - as well as the tiny bow.

The tree tops were heat embossed with traces of Emerald Creek "Winter's Mistake" embossing powder and the outer edge of the wood slice in the background was coated with a layer of DecoArt Triple Thick for some additional glossy texture.

For some additional depth and interest the Holiday Greens were dipped into some Distress Stains that I had spread on my Glass Media Mat.

The kraft card was given some white splatters (using an almost empty white Shimmer Mister) and it's edges were blended with gathered twigs Distress ink using a blending tool. Then I layered all the elements and glued them into place using Tacky Glue.

I hope you like my early Christmas card! Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs and happy crafting!
