serafeena war heute so lieb, mich mit dem "Kinderschuh-Award" zu bedenken, der dazu gedacht ist, noch jungen, kleinen blogs ein wenig mehr Bekanntheit zu verschaffen. Eine ausgesprochen kluge und hübsche Idee, wie ich finde. Dem, der sie ins Leben gerufen hat, an dieser Stelle mein Lob und meinen Dank!

Die Sache sieht so aus, dass jede/r, der diesen Award erhält, ihn an fünf weitere von ihm geschätzte BloggerInnen weiterreicht, von denen wiederum jede/r folgende Kriterien erfüllen muss:

DragonsDreamTagItOn's "In a heartbeat" - challenge wants to see a beating heart, a worn time piece and a bit of grunge on this fortnight's tags, so here they come:

As a passionate P&P roleplayer, I especially love settings from the Victorian aera. So, when I stumbled over this lovely couple, I had a whole scene in mind immediately, which I tried to tell on this one tag. She is so worried about him, not having been well for quite a long time yet. Will he really be fine, as he says? Or does the torn pocket watch - meant as a symbol? - tell otherwise? Who knows...

The badge, telling about perfect blood circulation being perfect health, tells us part of the story too. And Carter's Little Liver Pills... did he take them in vain for all these years? So many facts to consider. So much to worry about.

On this tag I used some self printed ephemera, stamps from Tim Holtz and Graphics 45's "Olde Curiosity Shoppe" collection. I used Ranger Distress inks "walnut stain", "vintage photo" and "rusty hinge". I altered the pocket watch embellishment with AAI "rust" and "sunset". For drawing and writing the speech bubbles I used a permanent black lumocolor pen from Staedtler. The self adhesive black velvet ribbon comes from the Depot store's sale.

Altered Mini Drawer Box

As The Stamp Man Challenge asks its' readers to create altered items this time, a long forgotten small cardboard box with three drawers came to my mind, which I have been owning (and forgetting about) for at least twenty years I guess. (Could be it's the green colour of the marbled paper it is covered with. This green really is hard to bear for me... so the box always went into a bigger drawer itself... *lol).

This is the outcome of my altering project, which I am entering at The Stamp Man Challenge blog (link see above):

Here is the original box, as it looked like, before I attacked it with everything my mind was up to at that moment.

As you can see, I had already started to cover the edges with a Tim Holtz tissue tape to get light edges that could be inked afterwards with distress ink and tool.

After I covered all of the grissly purple-blueish-green edges with the tape, the box looked like this:

Then I inked around all of the edges with Distress ink "walnut stain", which I also used for inking the edges of the four paper-panels (for the sides, the back and the top of the box), which I cut out from a script covered sheet of my "Timeless Paper Stash" and glued onto their correspondant places afterwards.

I chose the subject "Cycling through life" for this project (which I just realized I have been stamping wrongly spelled onto one of the labels *grmpf), so I stamped (and partially embossed) various images of old bycicles and clocks onto the sides, back and top, which I "co-housed" with small labels from a sheet of my Prima "Romance Novel" paper stash. To add some texture, I stamped my favourite "three top-hatted men from Tim Holtz" in "pumice stone" ink colour quite randomly all over the box and the drawers' fronts too. As a colour-additional finish I inked the box at some spots with chalk inks in two different pink shades.

As the drawers would have been to wide for their slots, if I had covered them with paper too, I just coloured them with acrylic brown colour. The bottom side experienced the same treatment Wallaaah!

"Welcome!"

Knock, knock - Halloween is approaching and so I started to dive into creepy crawly gorgeous scarecrowcuddling and all that stuff that belongs to this wonderful haunted season of the year.

This is how my Halloween starting project looks like.

I was lucky to get one of the awesome stamp sets from My Mind's Eye's Lost&Found Halloween edition (they were all gone the next day, when I came back for something else)!!! Of course they had to be tried out immediately!!!
As orange and black are one of my favourite colours anyway, it seems to be obvious where my affinity to Halloween originates from. Scary stories were told to me by my grandma, when I was a small girl, and I loved that twoesome shivering with anticipation and joy.

I do have a paper stash with Halloween backgrounds, but I am too stingy to use these sheets right now (as I am with most of my paper stashes, I have to admit ). So I created a background paper on my own, using a black-and-white coloured sheet from a children's crafts set, that had gorgeous stripes on it. I shaded the cut out tag with white chalk ink first, then distressed the edges and inked them with "spiced marmalade" Ranger distress ink. There was still something missing, so I added shades of black stamping ink too and finally the "Welcome"-sign I love so much, which finally added the texture and depth I had been missing so far.

Then I created the picture with Mr. Death, presenting his latest collection of potions and poisonous cocktails with a quite proud gesture I think. Of course his surrounding had to be decorated with some spider webs and some texture, created using a border stamp from flonzcraft. As background paper I used a scrap from a sheet from Prima's Almanac collection (one of my favourites too), which I distressed and inked in black and "spiced marmalade" again.

The lace ribbon needed to be orange too, so I bathed it a little in a splash of "spiced marmalade" and dried it afterwards with the heating tool. For the eyelet's transformation into "orange creepiness", I used AAI "sunset". The ribbon for fixing the tag was crumpled up between my hands, until it was scarily wrinkled and crumpled up and never to be used on a cute package again. Perfect for my purpose. Done!

"eternal love"

As Catered Crop is calling for "In the Pink Recipies", I decided to do something quite unusal for me - namely: diving into pink - all over! YESS, I can be a pink girlie too. Unbelievable, but true. So this is my project for their challenge:

I also enter this project to Everybody-Art-Challenge blog's "Vintage"-challenge.

And pink it is! The more the merrier - just as they asked for. ;)
And I have to admit it - I really enjoyed this bathing in pinks of all kinds. It gave me the opportunity to try out my new chalk ink board with soft pastel colours, do some layering and using some lace border and lovely chipboard elements too.
